Few blackberry smartphones has Hotspot functionality where they can easily share internet via wifi to the computer and any other internet enabled device, but for those without hotspot this few steps will show you how to use your blackberry as internet modem to connect to the internet on the computer.

Steps how to use blackberry phones as modem on computer
- First you will need to install Blackberry Desktop Manager software on your computer, this usually comes in a CD along with a newly purchased blackberry devices but if you don’t have you can download it on blackberry website here
- After successful installation of the Blackberry Desktop Manager, connect your Blackberry smartphone to your computer via a USB cable; wait till it recognises your phone by displaying your phones details.
- After it has connected, click on “mobile internet” option on the left bottom corner of the Blackberry Desktop manager, a list of mobile service providers will be listed, you can select from the list but if you don’t find your carrier click on the “Add custom” button, A Box will appear for filling settings.
- In the settings box you can fill all your necessary settings e.g for MTN Nigeria settings type in any name as profile name like MTN BIS, then username and password as ‘web’ then access point as ‘blackberry.net’
- Click ok and then save.
Now you can use your blackberry phones as modems.
