How to solve Blackberry JVM Error 102 without wiping your device

Do you have a white screen of death showing an error message JVM Error 102? You can easily fix it without wiping your entire device. What the JVM 102 error simply means is that a .cod file on your phone seems to be corrupt, so the phone refuses to load it. So why wipe everything for one bad file? You might not need to.

The steps below will help you fix the JVM Error 102 without you wiping the device.

Step 1

Download JL_Cmder

Step 2

Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable that came with it.

Step 3

Run JL_Cmder and select option 2 (event log)

Step 4

Scroll to the bottom of the log and look for “JVM Error 102.” The line before it should tell you exactly what file is causing the error.  Save th file name; you will need it later.

Step 5

Go to Start > Run, and type “cmd” then press Enter.

Step 6

Change the directory to the JL_Cmder installation folder by typing the following: cd “C:\Program Files\JL_Cmder\” and press the enter key.

Step 7

Type the following command to remove the offending file:

javaloader.exe -u erase -f FILENAME

where FILENAME is the name of the .cod file. Press enter key

Step 8

Disconnect your phone from your PC and restart it, it should work normally. now you can then go make a backup in case it happens again.
